Wild Night

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished about 6 hours ago 2 min read

Verse 1

There’s a hush in the doorway

where the shadows start to bend,

where the breath between the heartbeats

feels like something more than end.

There’s a whisper in the darkness,

soft as wings against the sky,

telling me that every ending

is just another way to fly.

Pre‑Chorus

And the stars lean in to listen,

as the veil begins to glow,

as the soul steps out of daylight

into something it already knows.

Chorus

Dying is a wild night,

and a new road calling home.

It’s the breaking of the boundary,

it’s the place where we’re not alone.

It’s the wind that lifts the spirit,

it’s the truth we’re meant to hold—

Dying is a wild night,

and a new road.

Verse 2

There’s a freedom in the falling,

in the letting go of fear,

in the way the quiet opens

when the world is nowhere near.

There’s a lantern made of memory,

and a doorway made of light,

and the soul walks out in wonder

into the velvet of the night.

Pre‑Chorus

And the stars lean in to listen,

as the mystery unfolds,

as the heart becomes a traveler

on a path the body never holds.

Chorus

Dying is a wild night,

and a new road calling home.

It’s the breaking of the boundary,

it’s the place where we’re not alone.

It’s the wind that lifts the spirit,

it’s the truth we’re meant to hold—

Dying is a wild night,

and a new road.

Bridge

Oh, the soul remembers everything

the mind forgets to see—

that the end is just a turning

toward a deeper mystery.

And the love we leave behind us

is the love that lights the way,

guiding us through every shadow

to the dawn of a new day.

Final Chorus

Dying is a wild night,

and a new road calling home.

It’s the breaking of the boundary,

it’s the place where we’re not alone.

It’s the wind that lifts the spirit,

it’s the truth we’re meant to hold—

Dying is a wild night,

and a new road.

Outro

So when the night grows quiet,

and the world feels far away,

know the soul is just beginning

its next, bright day.
