Wigan Pies and Pier grand

Now’t better than a meat and potato pie, and cup of tea

Wigan Pies and Pier grand

At Wigan Pier, we made our stand,

With a pie in each and every hand.

No need for towers, no need for fame,

Our pastry pride secured our name.

The world may talk of sights to see,

none match pie and a strong-brewed tea.

Forget the wonders far and wide,

We’ve got gravy, chips, and northern pride.

So if you ask what marks our spot,

It’s not a statue — it’s a pie so grand,

That’s how we put our place on the land!

At Wigan Pier, the canal rolls by,

A golden pie meets the northern sky.

Laughter echoes, bold and clear,

For pies and cheer keep us anchored here.

No need for castles tall and grand,

A meat and potato pie in hand.

With every bite, a tale we spin,

Where Wigan’s heart will always win.
