Why We Fall In Love
Excerpt by Harley Pennington
Because of the chemicals rushing through our brains.
Because we were late to work.
Because we took a different jogging route.
Because she wanted the family she didn't grow up with.
Because he wanted to feel like he belonged.
Because we swiped right instead of left.
Because our shaky hands need something to hold.
Because they are your best-friend for over a decade.
Because they sat next to your in class.
Because they’re the only person to actually see you.
Because before them, the world lacked color.
Because of fear.
Because of luck.
Because of chance.
Because we need hope.
Because she healed her inner child that was afraid to hold another girl.
Because falling in love is what we‘re designed to do as humans.
