Why does the Sycophant hate the Hypocrite?
Free Verse Poem
I am a sycophant, but I began as a mere hypocrite.
The sycophant hates the hypocrite
because
the hypocrite wears fake nails, fake tits, fake jewelry,
steals the sycophants gold,
laughs at dragons,
and doesn't count how many hours, or days, or nights
that the sycophant had to wipe shit off of lips.
It's so easy to be a hypocrite especially when you are loved.
It's not easy at all to be a professional sycophant,
and most of the time it's not even a choice,
just a strategy because God was cruel.
Were you born with weak knees or ankles? Did God care?
Were you born with missing teeth?
Were you born with a sickly condition that makes you weaker than others?
Were you born short?
Are you weaker than most?
Then you qualify for Sycophant application.
Hypocrisy doesn't require an application or weakness.
That's why the Sycophant hates the Hypocrite.

Through the Water to the Lights
Fig looked at the clock on the wall in the hallway which read 3:30 p.m. The power was still off, the water outside still not gone, and Uncle Georgio still had not made a sound or come out of his room. Fig knew she had to do something at this point. She went to her closet and got her bathing suit and water shoes to wear so that she could attempt to go through the flood water. After she changed into her swim gear, she went to talk to her children.
