Why do you game

What have I learned as a gamer? What wisdom have I gained from gaming?

Well, simply put, the world is constantly changing…

Seasons change, expansions must inevitably be made,

And so the ability to be flexible based on every individual circumstance,

To be confident in your strengths,

But be intelligent in your approach,

Understanding the value of versatility,

And that a team is made of different moving pieces,

And that synergy with your team is more important than an individual player,

It’s a process of learning to work with others,

And being consistently on point.

I’ve learned that wars are fought in the spirit,

And that rallying it at the appropriate time has major impact upon match,

And boosting stamina many times, requires a rallying shout.

I’ve learned that precision is a skill constantly honed,

And to be adaptable against every opponent,

Is a skill gained through experience.

To understand that a game is not over until the war is all but won,

And even if you’re the underdog,

You can push yourself into victory at any given moment.

To understand doors of opportunity are not given,

But seen as such, noticed for what they are,

And that the ability to recognize such doors,

Takes patience and wisdom to discern.

I’ve learned that you’re always improving,

Always disciplining with each set back,

And perfecting the timing of each click,

Every cooldown to every movement of your character,

If you’re going to play the game, play better,

Be better, and fight hard.

I’ve learned that despite the mocking of others,

And the ganking of those who ambush you,

Don’t allow a bit of pressure to dissuade you,

Or a bit of resistance to hinder your resolve,

But rather, fight harder, play better,

Move more effectively, and fight smarter,

Not as a loser, but as a winner,

Not as the victim, but rather, as the victor.

There’s only one team that wins the 1st place trophy,

So what say you? Are you down to pick yourself up,

Dust your keyboard and mouse off, and win?
