Why Did You, the Moon, Chose Her?
Letter to the Moon

Why did you, the Moon, chose her?
Growing inside punched out thrown away devastated light reflecting
But no room of her own
Still
Captured
can not turn around
Moving further away
Day
After
day
The Moon can make you crazy.
In the shadows
it is cooler.
And mom is calling from the other room -
Always different unique nothing new
Quirky
Up and down
a slither of hope
Now waning
Dark phase coming on
Lunatic moods
shitting on the carpet
and down the hall
just a phase
passing soon
no control
high, violent tides
and mom is screaming from the other room -
She has orbited for 82 years.
But now no new moons
a leap year
added on
Once in a blue moon
Smalt has changed to tertiary.
unstable
further away
Ice cream in a coffee cup
melting faster than in a cone
Cold
and unmoving.
Finally free.
And mom is silent from the other room -
