Why did I go to the grocery store?

A poem written in my stream of consciousness.

By Cat the AutistPublished about a year ago 1 min read

I don’t remember why I went to the grocery store late at night.

I think I just wanted some almond milk, but the place I went to didn’t have it.

So I wander.

I stroll over by some random produce, seeing if I can notice anything off like bumps or signs of molding.

There’s a pepper that’s as green as the eyes of a guy that I once wished that I had slept with.

So I wander.

I go to the beauty section and find yet another nail polish collection based on a classic movie, and only one shade of pastel blue catches my eye.

A tube of lipstick in the richest shade of hot pink catches my eye, but I don’t grab it because I already have like ten freaking tubes of lipsticks.

So I wander.

That middle-aged female employee keeps eyeing me, so I decided to grab whatever I can to get her off my back.

A white stuffed cat catches my eye, begging for me to take it home, so I do that.

So I go home.
