Whole Lotta Hurt

whole lotta pain

By BrenPublished 3 years ago Updated 3 years ago 1 min read

i gotta lotta hurt in me

a lotta hurt and consequently, a lotta pain

mine and yours and ours and theirs

what does it matter when it all feels the same

i gotta lotta hurt in me

sometime i can feel it grow

what crimes have i committed;

for me to be punished so

i gotta lotta hurt in me

i keep it where no one can see

i shut the door and leave it be

yet it yearns and plots to be free

i gotta lotta hurt in me

i try not to let it show

some of our things need a while

it’s not so easy to just let go

we all gotta whole lotta hurt in us

and damn if we don’t carry it everyday

it’s you it’s me it’s them it’s us

until there is no other way

sad poetry

Your poetry reads like music to me. The rhythm is strong
