And who would have thought,
They would have stumbled upon one another
In the midst of anguish
Beneath the sun,
Then again beneath the moon,
Beside the river,
And among the weeds,
Who would have thought
They would have been lost
With the same destination,
Who would have thought
They started at the same beginning
But took altering courses
Until collide?
Who would have thought,
She would call him home,
And he would learn all her favorite things,
That they would balance
Perfectly on the edge
Of the surreal and natural-
Hand in hand
Making their way
Through another year
Of learning.
