Who Will Help Us Sit With Our Darkest Feelings and Emotions?
We are worthy of being loved.
Who can help us sit with our darkest feelings and emotions?
We are worthy of love.
We deserved to be cared for and nurtured.
Our bodies are tired and worn from being strong.
We need to be weak for a bit.
We need to let ourselves fall into someone else’s arms.
We need to let our wisdom fall to the wayside.
We need to be cared for and loved.
Yes, we are strong. Yes, we are warriors. Yes, we broke a cycle and now we are tired.
We thank the heavens that we can feel but God sometimes it feels like too much.
We thank the heavens that we are here now but please go easy on us.
The truth is it hurts and it’s sad, but how long are we going to fester in it before we learn to accept it and move on.
When will the grief start to dissipate?
When will the painful memories stop?
Where is all that fun that we missed out on in childhood?
We can’t go back and change the past but we can’t stuff it down either.
We take a good hard look at it and try to integrate the traits we gained and let go of the ones that no longer serve us.
We don’t cower.
We let others in.
We feel.
And we begin to breathe and fully live unencumbered by the shame of our pasts.
We move forward.
We smile and laugh at how far we have come.
