Coffee dates with friends
Late night talks with them
Home-cooked dinner with family
Random topics with them
You savor the feeling
Such a warm feeling
You close your eyes with a smile
With the moon’s light as you sleep tight
**
Then one morning you wake up
You call them for a meal
You invite them for a coffee
But nobody replied
Others had denied
Moments later, you realize
They’re all gone
They’ve moved on
**
Some waved goodbye
Some smiled with their meaningful eyes
Others simply walk ahead
They all had and have to leave
***
You’re left all alone
Your favorite coffee shop isn’t that cozy anymore.
The kitchen became more spacious
You always knew times like this would come
And it comes unannounced
You are caught unprepared
Their living makes you bared
**
Bared to their memories
Bared to their absence
Bared to a lesson
And to a realization
A realization that you are on your own
**
You're not that naive
You’re expecting this
You’ve prepared for this
People come and go as the seasons do
You thought you were ready for this
But you can never be ready to a goodbye
**
As painful and poignant as it may be
All you can do is take their memory
The memories you all created
The memories that you all treasured
Those times when laughing came easy
And crying was less hard
**
They may have all gone
But you have the best company-you
Listen to yourself just like you listen to them- intently
Give advice to yourself just like you do to them- passionately
Be kind to yourself just as you sit with them- patiently
Be your own best friend just as you are to them — constantly
**
Fill your lungs with gratitude
Take a breath with peace
Keep their memories close to your heart
As you also tread your own path
You on your own may seem scary
But you on your own may be your sanctuary

That's the sad thing about people, they always leave. In the end, we only have ourselves. Loved your poem!
