Who's Holding Up The Sky?
This is how I remember it — Vocal Summer Challenge

Arching my head back,
back as far as it can go,
I gape up with curious wonderment
Stretching out before me,
a rich blue colour splays across a boundless space called,
The Sky
All is calm, all is still
Pure silence surrounds me,
as I stand and take in this mystical scene,
observed from fresh innocence,
for the very first time
I gasp at the candy floss shapes,
splattered across the immense expanse
How do they stay up all by themselves?
Inquisitive puzzlement pulses through my newness
Childlike questions evolve through my mind
How did I get here and,
where have I come from?
What’s behind the blueness, and where does it go,
and what does it feel like?
Who is holding it up and will I ever know?
The fragments of memory fray and whisper at the edges of time…
Moons and stars have passed,
from once upon a season when my self-awareness emerged
what,
why,
when,
where,
how
Who put me here?
This is how I remember it,
wondering how and why I was me, and what was this unknown place, when I was two or three,
alone in the garden, on a beautiful summer’s day
