Who I am

Poetry colour challenge

By MaryPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Life is complicated and in that respect we are not unique. We share a bond in wanting to be heard and understood. I am sharing a poem in two parts that when read together brings the need to be understood with the love to understand . I see and feel this in others . I can see and frequently defend people’s points of view, even those against me and I want to understand. The same poem with subtle differences.

Part 1: I am rainbow

See! The chance mixing of hue and shade. From Violet turmoil to Scarlett rage. A Verdant sage; a slow intent. Cerulean, graceful, mock confidence. See me! vibrantly comforting , sunshine and fire. My flames burn intensely in tranquil desire . My journey to colour; mixing in tones Feel lifeforce and energy melding my bones. Colour surrounds me igniting my dreams. Emptiness hunts me; tears and screams I shun monochrome, despise black and white. Predictable, obvious; day and night . A black hole wasted , spoiled and clipped Misfiring, lost energy, tired and whipped Shallow and barren not bursting with pride ? I am rainbow, dig deeper inside .

Part 2: I see your rainbow

I see chance mixing of hue and shade Your Violet turmoil your Scarlet rage. A Verdant sage; with slow intent. Cerulean, cool, mock confidence. I feel you vibrantly comforting, like sunshine and fire. See flames burn intensely in tranquil desire . I follow your journey mixing in tones. Send lifeforce and energy to settle your bones. Let colour continue igniting your dreams. Emptiness hunts you; tears and screams . You shun monochrome, despise black and white. Predictable, obvious; day and night . You’re not a black hole wasted, spoiled clipped. Misfiring, pale shading, tired and whipped. Nor shallow and barren but bursting with pride

I see your rainbow is deeper inside .
