Who Am I

poem

By Katie EnglePublished 4 years ago 1 min read

I am a Woman,

I don't open my legs until I wed.

I cook, I clean

I also make the bed.

I hide my face under a mask

Of beauty and sanity until I go to bed.

Though in my dreams I have choices,

I dare not say.

I wouldn't be a woman that way.

I am a Woman,

I open my legs for anyone.

I drink, I smoke

I also worship my demon.

I stay up late, sweating in moonlight

Knowing I should go home

But everything feels so right.

I am a Woman,

My heart is a bomb,

Ticking and ticking

Until it goes off.

My brain is a lighter,

Beautiful and bright.

My body is my home,

Safe and sound.

What happens if my heart,

Burns it all down?
