I can’t begin to tell you

How much it hurts to say this

I can’t allow it anymore

The nagging, constant madness

I know that all of what I say is true

But because you hold a broken mirror

You insist the blame is not on you.

I can’t allow the darkness

That resides within your heart

To creep it’s way within my own

And tear my soul apart.

You’ve broken everyone around you

And tout that you’re a hero

But you have only caused destruction

As my patience reaches zero.

I’ve got nothing left to give you

After every second chance.

You’ve taken everything I have

And still continue your war dance.

If war is what you wish then fine

I’ll show you what it is to be divine.

Just don’t hold your breath this time

Because the air you breathe right now is mine.

About the Creator

Arthur Armstrong

A being of duality, poetic irreverence, and maddening nonsense.
