In the quiet of the night, I hear,

Echoes of a time once near,

When laughter danced on winds so free,

And every moment felt like eternity.

The days were long, the sky was wide,

Endless wonder by my side.

I chased the stars, the clouds, the breeze,

With open hands and boundless ease.

But time, it slipped, like sand in hand,

No longer could I understand,

The magic once so bright, so clear,

Now faded with each passing year.

Yet in my heart, those whispers stay,

A child’s dream, not far away.

Perhaps if I listen close enough,

I’ll find my way back, though times are tough.

For deep inside, where hopes reside,

The child in me will never hide.

She waits with eyes so full of light,

To dream again, to take flight.
