Whispers Of A Frozen Mirror

Frosted mirror on the wall,

You used to tell me I wasn’t the fairest of them all.

You ruled over me,

Teasing with whispers of inadequacies.

With its first icy kiss, you’ve frozen over,

The cold touch of winter’s lips shattered you,

Cracked and fragmented you into pieces like a broken slab of ice.

******************************************Who would have thought that in winter’s first embrace of snowy cold, I’d find myself—brilliant and bold?

A blanket of white, yet under a microscope, something unique, irreplaceable—a sight to behold.

Through a frosty mist, I see my beauty; You’re broken, yet I remain whole.

So let carolers sing,

The wind’s cold howl whispers what tomorrow will bring.

This winter’s touch gives me wings.

Or frozen tears,

As the snow falls, I feel no fears.

I thought my heart had frozen over the years,

But in the cold, I know it’s thawed,

Bruised and battered, healed but not shattered.

So like a snowfall blown or melted away-to you, mirror, this is what I say:
