Whispers of a Forgotten Soul

Even in silence, the heart remembers what the world forgets.

By Mahmood AfridiPublished 6 months ago 1 min read

In a world that moves too fast,

Where moments fade, they never last,

There lives a heart, quiet, unseen,

A shadow caught in what has been.

It longs for hands it used to hold,

For stories whispered, soft yet bold,

But silence speaks where voices were,

And memory’s touch feels like a blur.

I walked through dreams I couldn’t keep,

Through nights that stole my fragile sleep,

And every tear became a song,

Of all the places I belonged.

But love—oh love—refused to stay,

It slipped like smoke, it flew away.

Yet still I wait, with hope so small,

To hear your voice, to feel it call.

For even in this endless ache,

A wounded soul will never break.

Because to love is worth the pain,

Even if it’s lost again.

So here I stand, both weak and strong,

A ghost of where I once belonged.

And though the world forgets my name,

My love for you will stay the same.

Would you dare to love,
Even knowing it might end in silence?
