Whispers of a Broken Heart

Silent Cries Beneath the Fading Light

By Emma Published 6 months ago 1 min read

I held your picture softly in my hand,

Dreaming of a life we had carefully planned.

But love slipped away like shifting sand,

Leaving me stranded in a hollow land.

Your voice still echoes, a haunting sound,

In every shadow where memories are found.

I search for you, but you’re nowhere around,

Just silence falling heavy on sacred ground.

I wrote you letters I’ll never send,

Each word a wound I cannot mend.

Time stretches long, it refuses to bend,

And loneliness feels like it will never end.

The moonlight cries on my weary face,

Tracing the pain I cannot erase.

I reach for love but find only space,

An empty world, devoid of your grace.

If tears could build a fragile bridge,

I’d cross the sorrow, edge by ridge.

But fate has locked you beyond this ridge,

Leaving me frozen on life’s cold ledge.

So here I wait, though hope has died,

With broken dreams I cannot hide.

A love once pure, now swept by the tide,

And all that’s left is the ache inside.
