Whisper’s Breath
Once upon a whisper love came calling,
With overtones of lifetimes it was bringing.
It courted me with soft caresses,
With gentle words and lavender breezes.
Frolicking like newborn fawns,
In valleys and over dale now arrows drawn.
Peacefully playing exchanging glances,
We both wondered what were the chances.
Spring it was with daffodils all in a row,
Brought smiles with adoration in tow.
It was the infancy of something unknown,
But many warned to leave it alone.
But it was my life that was at stake,
And they would know if it was a mistake.
For eyes filled with tears will never lie,
When hearts torn apart those saying goodbye.
Summer’s melody of whimsical taunting,
Each speaking words that were enchanting.
From dawn to dusk and even into late evening,
Promises over candlelight passion unending.
Fall’s rhapsody of mystical colors blazing,
Casting multicolored images that amazing.
Questioning whether things would last,
Shadowy figures with leaves downcast.
Winter’s token of new fallen snow,
Spoke of sorrows, lies, and grief untold.
For all that it could’ve been it will never be,
The love, its warmth, and its complexities.
Dead now lays the corpse upon tear-stained words,
Those once spoken in hast, now becoming blurred.
Far better it die upon whispered wind’s wings,
Than to continue offering melodies it can not sing.
