How many times am I going to whisper “I love you” to you while I'm alone in an empty room, sending it out to the universe, to you, but you'll never hear it?
How long will you haunt me in places you've never set foot in?
There is nowhere I can go where I am untouched by you.
Where is the fairness of you walking away but still leaving me feeling that just around the corner, in the next room, there you'll be? That if I just called out to you we could fall into our old patterns, and also start something new.
How many years have to pass, how much distance between us, before I stop thinking of you?
I discovered you were in the world and the world was forever changed. And damn you, because I can never go back to that state of unknowing. You came and you went and now I have to once again walk through this world without you.
Now I have to whisper “I love you” to someone who doesn't care anymore.
