Whiskers in the Wind
The Gentle Journey of a Rabbit's First Spring

Whiskers in the Wind
In a hollow burrow, soft and deep,
A little rabbit woke from sleep.
The world above, so vast and bright,
Was calling with the morning light.
With trembling paws and twitching nose,
He stepped beneath the budding rose.
The grass was wet with drops of dew,
The sky above a thrilling blue.
He watched a bee buzz by his ear,
Its hum so strange, yet sweet to hear.
A butterfly, all silk and gold,
Danced past—so brave, so bright, so bold.
He met a frog by lily pond,
Who croaked and leapt—a magic bond.
And when he saw his mirrored face,
He marveled at this brand-new place.
The wind, it whistled through the trees,
It played with him in gentle breeze.
It tousled fur, it whispered low,
Of all the paths he’d come to know.
A fox’s shadow brushed the glade—
He learned of caution, fear, and shade.
But even fear, he came to see,
Was part of life's great mystery.
He found a friend, a sparrow shy,
Who sang him stories from the sky.
And every dusk, with stars above,
He dreamed of all the things he’d love.
The little rabbit, soft and small,
Was learning he was part of all—
Of earth and sky, of night and sun,
And life had only just begun.
