Where Were You (When All Things Went to Hell)

where were you

when all things went to hell?

where were you

when I was fighting against the demons?

where were you

when I was forced to grow up?

where were you?

mom's broken;

she lost the one person

she once believed was her entire world.

she lost the one person

she always believed that she'll

be able to count on,

no matter what.

your little girl,

that twelve year old you claimed was your pride and joy,

had to be the shoulder to cry on.

where were you

when she was trapped in her own mind?

where were you

when I was comforting the one person

you swore that you'd never, ever hurt.

where were you?

that little girl that you

loved so much;

she died that night.

that little girl that you

loved so much;

she lost her final straw that night.

that little girl forced herself

through so much,

yet you never gave a shit.

that little girl had to watch

in the shadows

as you took her mother out

just to break her in the middle

of a crowded restaurant.

she trusted you.

you were her fucking idol,

man.

you were her shining knight in steel-plated armor,

dad.

you were supposed to be there

for her

through it all.

so,

let me ask once more.

where were you,

when it all went to hell?
