Where the Ice Hides the Water

And I listen for the song...

By Forest PritchardPublished 4 years ago Updated 4 years ago 1 min read

Where the ice hides the water when the wind blows the snow --

In silence, here I listen for the water's flow below.

As the snow is flowing, flying

And the wind is calling, crying,

Here upon the ice I'm lying

As my fingers touch the snow...

.

(With my ear upon the ice

As the wind and water flow.)

.

And I know the river hears me when I sing the sacred songs,

And I listen 'til I hear her singing back and singing strong.

And I'm feeling what she's saying

Deep within me as I'm praying

And I hear the water playing

As I listen here so long....

.

(And I know that I'll be staying

'Til I learn to sing along...)
