Where the Heart Used to Be

Sometimes nothing changes — except the place where love once lived

By Jhon smithPublished about 13 hours ago 1 min read

Your leaving did not change the world dramatically.

The sun still rises.

The streets still fill with noise.

People still laugh as if nothing has shifted.

On the surface,

life continues with disciplined normalcy.

But inside —

something quiet has moved.

It is not chaos.

It is not destruction.

It is something more subtle than that.

Where my heart used to rest,

there is now a careful, constant ache.

Not loud enough for others to notice.

Not sharp enough to stop breathing.

Just present.

Your absence did not ruin my life.

It simply relocated the feeling.

Where warmth once lived,

there is tenderness edged with pain.

Where comfort once existed,

there is memory.

And perhaps that is what love truly does —

it does not always break us when it leaves.

Sometimes,

it merely changes the address of the heart.
