Where the Green Grass Grows

Sometimes what you are looking for, has been in front of you all along.

You can lose your chance at the moon,

Because you are too busy chasing the stars.

The grass isn’t always greener,

On the other side of the fence.

Grass becomes green,

When you learn to water your own lawn.

Your flowers bloom much fuller,

When you stop blocking all the sunshine.

Your garden will be much more bountiful,

When you tend to the seeds that YOU have planted.

You can’t complain of the harvest you reap,

When the grains you have sown,

Were planted with ill intentions and malice.

Life is beautiful and full of roses,

But if you try to pluck the beauty before it’s bloom,

You will surely feel the prick of the spiny thorns.

The fence you use to keep your blessings in,

May very well be the facet,

Prohibiting and averting your blesser.

If you don't step aside out of your own way,

You cannot fully receive all this life has to offer.

If you have never reached the bottom,

You will never fully appreciate what victory feels like,

You mustn’t allow memories to perish,

So your legacy can live on through,

The fruits of your labor.

Karma is the seed you must water,

You get what you put in,

The effort you provide.

Don’t permit other’s grass to be,

The subject of your irrigation,

Prior to your own.

Don’t stand in the way of your own sunshine,

Let your footsteps make the first impression,

Give your best effort,

But don’t give it all,

Save the best of it for yourself.

Someone else’s grass only appears greener,

But keep in mind it is enriched with bullshit,

So tread lightly and wipe your feet,

Make sure your doorstep is clean,

Before you come to sweep mine.

You keep your astroturf,

The grass is greener on my side.
