Where the Flame Refuses to Fade

A Ghazal of Lingering Presence and Silent Prayer

By heasb002Published 6 months ago 1 min read

This ghazal explores the bittersweet persistence of memory and love. Though the beloved has departed, their voice, warmth, and influence remain etched into time, seasons, and soul. It is a meditation on letting go—without truly losing.

I let you go—but your voice still remains,

A flame of you burns in my quiet veins.

You left—and seasons began to rearrange,

Yet beneath the tree of memory, our page remains.

We wrote autumn without your return,

Still in my eyes, the hue of prayer remains.

Now I remain—a shadow far from the sun,

Let my solitude live, if it means your love stays on.
