where the broken healers are

A poem on a weathering love

By Gabriel HuizengaPublished 12 months ago 1 min read
Runner-Up in Love in 50 Words Challenge

Less a bitten lip and sultry glance,

across a tenebrous bar,

than a bitten tongue, and second chance

when rash words would go too far:

There's the heart of true romance,

Where the broken healers are;

A weathering love's a deep, deep dance

to the song of the grace-kissed scar.

    " A weathering love's a deep, deep dance" - I'm just going to sit with that for a while and all that it conjures about love.
