Where is the other half of me stored?
The forgotten half,
the part I ignored.
Was it bottled up on the inside?
Or folded up inside a drawer?
It doesn’t matter much now.
Since it’s all spilled out on the floor.
I slipped into the puddle,
just as it started to out pour.
Like sliding down a waterfall.
Now I’m hidden in the floor.
I have heard those naming me
they haven’t brought me forth.
So I stay here in this checkerboard,
a strategizing pawn.
Biding time and learning more
about the me I forgot to know
