When you close your eyes

What does your mind surmise?

When you dream where do you play ?

Are the rivers warm

Or cold from a storm

This place that takes you away?

Does the sun rise

Or do shadows deny

Anything but gray?

Do you leave in haste

Or wait to see a face

A glimpse before it all goes away?

Does your world conform

When your dreams take form

Or do they just betray?

I look for a place

Like a rainbow i chase

Those aspirations that got away

I stay too long

Trying to catch what's gone

Lost in yesterday

But what's at the end of that rainbow

I just gotta know

Without delay

So I wake up tired

Never finding what's desired

But still wanting to stay.

When you close your eyes

What does your mind surmise?

When you dream

Where do you play?
