When will you come

The mother awaits

Don't let me drown myself in your sight,

hoarding mini valuables from your childhood times,

Don't let me crown my head in your light,

**

Living in a small town, a country delight,

holding onto memories that once chimed,

Don't let me drown myself in your sight,

**

My age, an old gown's insight,

building a barricade, brewing my pride to not rhyme,

Don't let me crown my head in your light,

**

Rather, choosing to lose my fight,

to stay by your side until my lifetime,

Don't let me drown myself in your sight,

**

Yet, I learn to live by myself in the quiet,

a purposeful distance for a good mealtime,

Don't let me drown myself in your sight,

**

The wait seems to die down with every night,

letting go of keepsakes seems to fall in love with my bedtime,

Don't let me drown myself in your sight

Don't let me crown my head in your light

About the Creator

Parvathi J

Through my pages, I find the quiet complexities of pain dwelling in a solitary space, burdening life’s endless demands, and unburdening the voiceless noise.

Witnessing the questioning, I speak the deeper silence of my voice.
