When White Lie’s Dance Around The Truth
How to balance the truth and compassion during challenging times.
It can be said that knowing a person’s truth will set you free.
Yet, finding out the truth can hurt in ways you were not prepared for.
Like a bolt of lightning that strikes you in your tracks.
Truth is supposed to be relieving, not painful. But when the truth is spoken, are you ready for the darkness of the truth to come into the light?
Did it bring you all the peace and comfort you were looking for?
At what cost to you were your questions answered?
Sometimes, a white lie is needed, like a gentle shield to protect fragile hearts from the harshness of reality.
But when that shield shatters, truth, with just a few spoken words, can change your world.
The question is, how badly were you hurt? And did it set you free or wrap new, invisible chains around you?

So many white lies, I've learned not to trust them. Bitter truths tend to confirm my deepest fears & what I've believed all along.
Indeed, there’s always a binary. Excellent poem! ☺️👏
I would prefer the truth no matter how much it would break me. It's so painful when we find out the truth after the lie. Your poem was very profound and thought provoking. I loved it!
