When the Stars Forgot My Name
Did they forget, or did I fade?
There was a time when the stars knew my name,
Whispering softly in their shimmering flame.
Each twinkle a promise, a dream held tight,
Guiding me forward through the endless night.
But now they flicker, distant and cold,
Their voices silent, their stories untold.
I reach for them still, but they slip away,
As the night sky dims to shades of gray.
Did they forget, or did I fade?
A fleeting light, in the twilight laid.
Yet even in darkness, I search the sky,
For the stars that once knew me, shining high.
Perhaps one day, when the world is still,
They’ll remember my name, and I’ll feel the thrill.
Of stars that speak, of dreams reborn,
In the quiet embrace of a forgotten morn.
This poem reflects themes of identity, isolation, and longing, using the stars as a metaphor for connection and hope. It's about losing touch with something that once felt deeply personal, yet holding onto the belief that the connection might one day return.
