When The Spirit Moves You
Miracles Happen
I saw Jesus at a used car lot
Driving an Astro van he bought
With velvet seats and fuzzy dice
Speeding off to paradise
To a greasy diner on riverbed
Buying breakfast for all his friends
Ate bacon fried, until it’s crisp
While smoking Marlboro cigarettes
The angels sang Bob Marley songs
In harmony, he sang along
The short-order cook had fishnets on
Taking requests until the dawn
They called last call at the buffet bar
While the waitress played a mean guitar
He promised she could be a star
If she won a game of pickle ball
I don’t recall what happened next
A Benjamin covered the checks
A night that I won’t soon forget
I found salvation, not yet spent

Simply Fantastic! 💕
Next time you go, I want to come too. Sounds like a blast!
What a vivid story! I love how easily you transport me into a different place and time. So cool!
Oh I love this. I love the humanity in it, and how this poem seeked to bring Jesus down to earth. Placing him in everyday moments, making him one of the main characters. I love the flow, the tone and the humour. Also the song this was inspired by was enjoyable to listen to before I read your amazing poem. Outstanding work Kelli 👏🏽♥️🤗
This is another one blessed by the Kelli charm. It bounces along nicely and has a witty undertone that keeps you intrigued. Nice job.
Fun poem...
This is quite the creative poem. Who knows Jesus could make a visit like this. Good job.
What fun, I'm joining in xx
lol, too funny, Kelli. I spit my drink out
