WHEN THE SKY TURNS AGAINST US

Is the end of the world near? What have we done

WHEN THE SKY TURNS AGAINST US

The sky is broken and no one listens

storms claw at the oceans, tearing them thin

rivers rise without warning, drowning towns

fires crawl across mountains, too fast to stop

Lightning falls in jagged knives

splitting forests like dry kindling

while cities crumble beneath their pride

still we argue over who to blame

Asteroids sweep past, close enough to taste

and we call them rare, we call them luck

as if the stars don’t watch us fall

as if the heavens owe us mercy

The world burns, floods, shakes and roars

and some cry out, asking if God is angry

but the silence that answers feels colder than space

maybe we did this ourselves, brick by brick

We poisoned the seas, chased the winds

buried our greed in the earth’s cracked skin

we tore down the quiet and lit it with smoke

never thinking it might strike back

Now storms eat the morning before it begins

and the night hums with electric dread

fires don’t care who prays for rain

and floods won’t wait for apologies

Is there a god watching this mess

or just a world too tired to keep forgiving

sometimes I wonder if we are the plague

and the earth is shaking us off

No answers fall from the sky

only thunder, only rain

and the empty hush of what we lost

echoing in the storm’s cold heart.

Great poem of what our greed has done to our world

What a wonderful appraisal of where the world is; and it is not a good place. All the natural disasters are God's wrath, but there is a lot that man has and is doing to make things worse.
