When the City Sleeps

Poem.

By Danny Prem kumarPublished about a year ago 1 min read

**When the City Sleeps**

When the city sleeps, the silence hums,

In streets where once the daylight drums.

The glowing lights in windows dim,

As shadows stretch, serene and slim.

The rush of cars now fades away,

While whispers fill the quiet bay.

The moon ascends in skies of black,

And paints the world in silver’s track.

The alleys breathe a softer air,

And secrets linger everywhere.

Footsteps fade, the voices cease,

The city drifts in quiet peace.

Yet underneath the stillness deep,

The city stirs, though fast asleep.

In dreams it hums, alive and bright,

Waiting for the coming light.
