When Stars Forget to Shine

For though the stars may dim their blaze

By Raymond BentumPublished about a year ago 1 min read

There comes a night when the heavens fall still,

When the stars, once bold, bend to grief’s will.

The firmament wears a shroud of despair,

And silence seeps into the cold, empty air.

No guiding light to chart the way,

No whispered glow to keep fears at bay.

Just shadows deep, an endless void,

A heart once full, now fractured, destroyed.

Yet in the dark, where hope seems lost,

A quiet ember defies the frost.

A memory stirs, a flicker remains,

Of love unbroken by sorrow’s chains.

For though the stars may dim their blaze,

The echoes of their light still graze.

Each fading spark, a testament true,

To moments shared, to bonds that grew.

And so we tread through the night’s cruel hold,

Carrying fragments of starlight bold.

With every step, the darkness wanes,

And resilience hums through lingering pains.

Until the dawn, with its tender hues,

Softly kisses the wounds we choose.

And though the stars may not yet shine,

We find the courage to redefine.

For loss is the shadow of love so vast,

A bittersweet tether to the past.

And even when the stars are blind,

We carry their glow within our mind.
