When Smiles

Begin to Touch

By Printique StudiosPublished 2 months ago 1 min read

It starts with that look,

the kind that says too much

without saying a thing.

You tilt your head just slightly,

that playful pull in your grin

as if the air itself is in on our secret.

My thoughts scatter,

tripping over heartbeat and breath,

and somehow, the world slows down

just enough for me to notice

how your laughter curves

before it reaches your lips.

You lean closer,

not in rush, but in rhythm,

a quiet gravity between us,

like stars finding their orbit.

Even the pause before contact

feels like a whole language,

unwritten, but understood.

Then it changes.

Something shifts beneath the surface,

silly becomes sacred.

That teasing moment

turns softer, deeper,

and suddenly, it’s not just affection;

it’s recognition.

Like two souls remembering

they’ve done this before,

a thousand lifetimes,

a thousand ways.

Your touch lands gently,

but everything inside me

collides at once,

the ache, the joy, the quiet surrender.

And when we finally part,

the air still carries the warmth

of something infinite pretending to be small.

Love how you write. It reads like the lore of a movie scene, pulled me right in. You said less but meant more. Brilliantly done. Got me wondering… what was the thought behind the pen? Memory or movie scene?
