In the blur of lives and fleeting pace,

Among the strangers with tired grace,

A thousand eyes looked but never saw—

Except yours,

That paused,

That pulled me into a moment I didn’t expect.

Doors hissed closed,

Steel groaned,

The city roared through tunnel veins,

And yet—

It felt like silence had wrapped around us,

Like time was unsure whether to keep moving.

You stood across the aisle,

One hand gripping the rail,

Other tucked in the pocket of a coat that knew winters like secrets.

The way you looked at me—

Not with hunger,

Not with confusion,

But recognition,

As if you'd met me in another life,

And were quietly surprised to find me still beautiful.

My breath caught—

Not in my throat,

But in my chest, where my heart forgot its rhythm.

One blink and I nearly lost you—

Crowds shifted,

Bags swung,

A child cried somewhere near the doors.

But our gaze never broke.

No words. No wave.

Only the silent thunder of two souls

Standing inches apart

And centuries deep.

I imagined you asking my name—

In a voice low like velvet storms.

I imagined telling you my favorite song,

Hoping it would play in your mind

Every time you closed your eyes.

The train slowed.

The station approached.

My stop.

Not yours.

I wanted to stay.

I stepped off,
