When the money is extremely tight
And you're struggling for a delicious bite
Windy pie, airy pudding
Bread and cheese, no cooking
A choice between heating or food at night

Thanks for reading!
A sad little limerick about the energy poverty crisis in the UK and other places. Sadly, another I didn't get into the limerick challenge. Publishing a few off-cuts and fragments. It's like a spring clean of my WIP folder.
Hope you enjoyed it.
Here are a couple of other limericks:

Just a little window into challenging times.
Sadly true, in a lot of places.
Not so long ago, I finished Orwell's Down and Out in Paris and London. Although his experiences described in the book were a little bit staged, as he had a rather wealthy family who could support him financially, I think he still managed to truly convey how it feels when money is extremely tight. It's like another sad universe with its own laws and rules.
