When Love Turned to Obsession
A Journey from Devotion to Realization

I loved him once, with heart so pure,
In every touch, I thought I was sure.
But love, it seems, was not his way,
For obsession took its place one day.
At first, I basked in all his care,
The way he’d watch, the way he’d stare.
But slowly, shadows filled the space,
Where once I felt love’s gentle grace.
He didn’t love me—no, not quite,
He craved control, a jealous fight.
His eyes, they burned, not with desire,
But with a need that fanned the fire.
I gave him all, yet still he sought
To claim me like a thing he’d bought.
I loved him, blind to every sign,
Until I knew he wasn’t mine.
He was obsessed, his grip too tight,
And I, a bird, deprived of flight.
What once was love, now feels like chains,
A twisted dance of endless strains.
So now I walk a different line,
I see the truth, the clearer sign.
For love is free, but he, confined,
Was lost in a possessive mind.
I loved him once, but now I see,
His obsession could never set me free.
