When Love Terrifies

When Love Terrifies

By ElliePublished 8 months ago 1 min read

I get terrified when he comes close to me.

My eyes become teary.

I don’t understand this—

How can a person you love so deeply,

Whose presence touches your soul,

Make you tremble just by passing by?

Even now,

Just thinking of him walking near me,

Sends a shiver through my heart.

What could I say?

How could I tell him

How much I love him—

And how much he scares me too?

Is this what true, boundless love feels like?

To love someone so deeply

That their pain becomes your own,

And even their silence breaks your heart?

And when he’s hurting,

Why does it feel like a storm inside me?

Is this truly love… or is it just compassion?
