When Love Dies
Life stops dead in its tracks in mourning for lost love

When Love Dies
When love dies, a hush remains,
A shadow slips between two planes.
The soul, once bright, now silent weeps,
A grief too deep for gentle sleep.
The heart, a bloom once flushed with red,
Wilts and withers, cold and dead.
No spark remains, no whispered tune,
Just hollow echoes in a silent room.
Dreams unravel, soft and slow,
Like fading stars that cease to glow.
The soul cries out — a soundless plea —
Lost adrift on a darkened sea.
As time moves with steady tread,
A part of you lies quiet — dead.
For when love dies, it takes its due,
Leaving an ache that lingers true.
There is no spark, no second dawn,
Only a heart that beats Slowly till dead
love hurts, wounds and kills each beat.
As when the heart dies, engulfed in defeat.

Great
The soft collapse of these lines: "Dreams unravel, soft and slow, Like fading stars that cease to glow." is heartbreaking but captivating. I can see the dreams unravelling. 💔
This is one very sad poem of love that was supposed to last forever. Good job.
This is intense, sad, and beautiful Marie.
