When It Rains

Whispers in the Storm

By Hanen MehadbiPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Some say the rain falls soft and kind

Washing away the troubled mind

From what I’ve felt beneath its touch

I hold with those who cherish much

But if the skies grow dark and drear

I think I’ve seen the hidden fear

That gentle drops, though calm and bright

Can bring a storm to drown the light.

So whether rain is light or fierce

In tender calm or sharp as pierce

It’s in the soul where tears are born

In gentle grief or sorrow worn

For rain is more than just the sky

It’s in the heart’s own quiet cry

A healing tear, or heavy flood

When all that’s lost returns in mud.
