When I was created,

Daffodils were planted in the soil of my eyes.

Breaking up the deep brown ground with specks of yellow and green.

A child walked across my cheeks,

Climbed the mountian of my nose,

With dirty rubber boots.

Leaving a trail of childlike joy for fingers to trace on late nights.

Stars were implanted in my smile,

So that they may shine bright, sharing my gift of joy with the world.

When I was created I was given imperfections,

So that I may fall in love with them as I grew old.

Wrinkles crinkled by my eyes,

Scar riddled my body.

A leasson on loving the darker sides of life.

They show I have lived fully,

Strong enough to heal my wounds.

When I was created seeds of doubt were planted in my mind.

As I grew old I learnt to weed them out.

They stopped me from growing.

I needed the light they were blocking.
