When I Met Her I Was But A Child

A Spenserian Sonnet

I spent my life bethinking all my dreams,

Entrapped by cosmic wishes of my world.

I'd given up on love's intrinsic beams

Of warmth and light and purpose so unfurled

Before the stretches of my thoughts so curled.

I've finally gained career, but only slight:

The actor, aye the Lead, my life now pearled,

But missing still my dreams of love's swell light.

To naughts my thoughts now tremble not 'pon fight.

I had a'given up my dreams of love,

When standing on my set there came a sight,

A girl with nightly strands, a light above.

She held my gaze and smiled 'pon my grin,

Forever now soul's mate: a cosmic win.
