It’s natural to like what feels good,

To want to stay where it seems right.

What’s effortless comes easy,

But sometimes we can’t see how it’s slowly killing us inside.

A warm hug is great, just what you need,

Until the squeeze becomes too tight.

For some, that’s how home feels,

‘Cause all of the memories

Keep us up at night.

When the place that should warm you from deep in your soul

Becomes the place that you dread most to go,

When your heart is turned all around,

And you need to point in a new direction,

Sometimes you need to flap your wings and take off

even before you know where you’re heading.
