When an art historian feels comfortable
By Miranda Monahan, for the Get Comfortable challenge
When an art historian feels comfortable.
They feel like they are with their people.
They feel they could look at the same Renaissance-era painting for hours on end without growing tired of it.
They could see the same documentary a billion times over and not grow bored of it.
When an art history feels comfortable.
An art historian could discuss the same painting with someone who is not even listening to them.
An art historian could read the same book over and over again, knowing exactly what happens next.
This is because hopefully, the art historian loves history.
This is because hopefully, they are a nerd, affectionately.
This is because they love their work and could not imagine doing anything else with their life.
When an art historian feels comfortable.

I love art! I studied it all my life as a self-taught and somewhat educated art historian.
