What Will She Become?

The colors of the world always seemed dim,

That was until my daughter came in,

All of the shades that seemed so timid,

I look at now are incredibly vivid.

She brightens each and every one of my days,

Just by having a smile on her beautiful face,

I know she won’t always be so small,

But even when grown, I will come when she calls.

There are many colors in this world, she’ll determine,

Colors that go much deeper than skin,

She will navigate through the murky and bright,

And choose different colors to define her own light.

Her plump cheeks as red as any rose,

What will she become? Nobody knows,

There is one thing that I know for certain,

Only she can select her colors within.

Whichever colors she chooses to keep,

Will make her the person that she’s meant to be,

And keeping all of the colors close to her heart,

Will prove to the world that she is doing her part.
