It feels like
Sunlight coming in through the window while
we're still in bed, naked-
you, under a single sheet,
and I
under a down-comforter even though
it's summer.
When we sit on the porch
with our potted plants,
holding tiny porcelain cups of
Cuban coffee
and watch the sun go down,
listening to the gentle breeze
move through the chimes.
That feeling
is the same in the kitchen
when I have a glass of wine
and sit at my cluttered roll-top desk
while you
cut vegetables you may not even eat.
And we have our whole lives for this.
